Common Use Cases for Merging PDFs
How to Merge PDFs with PDFyre
Open the Merge PDF tool
Go to PDFyre.com and click Merge PDF on the homepage.
Add your PDF files
Click the drop zone to add PDFs. You can add as many files as you need. Files are added in the order you select them.
Review the file order
Files are listed in the order they will be merged. Use the โ button to remove any file you added by mistake. Re-add files in the correct order if needed.
Click Merge PDFs
PDFyre copies pages from each file in order into a new PDF. This preserves original quality โ pages are not re-rendered or recompressed.
Download the merged file
Click Download Merged PDF. The output file contains all pages from all input files combined in sequence.
โ Quality preserved: PDFyre's merge uses pdf-lib's page copying mechanism. Pages are copied byte-for-byte from the originals โ no re-rendering, no quality loss, no added watermarks.
What Gets Preserved When Merging
- Original page images at full resolution
- Existing searchable text layers
- Vector graphics and fonts
- Page dimensions and orientation for each page
- Embedded images and diagrams
Limitations to Know
- Encrypted (password-protected) PDFs cannot be merged. Remove the password first.
- Files are merged in the order added โ there is no drag-to-reorder currently
- Very large files (several hundred MB each) may cause memory issues on lower-end devices
